22 May How Consumption patterns impact on the Environment
In October 2013, PELUM Kenya in partnership with Global partners of the Green action Week from Philippines, Brazil, Uganda and Sweden will hold a Global Green Action Week.
The focus in 2013 will be to highlight to consumers how eating and consumption choices and patterns impact on the environment. PELUM will partner with Masipag, Centro Ecologico, NOGAMU and the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation (SSNC) in encouraging the general public to make informed choices of organic food consumption that ensures biodiversity conservation and ecological protection. Locally, PELUM Kenya will be working in Collaboration with the Consumer Information Network (CIN) in sensitizing various consumer categories.
A kick-off meeting was held in Stockholm, Sweden in March 2013 to roll out the build up activities for the Green Action Week in October 2013.
